The factory continentals are good tires. They had 50000 when replaced. Probably could've went another 10-15 k but winter was approaching. The P7plus have been great tires with proper rotation and alignment running at 40 psi I've got 74K out of them and are only about half tread maybe a little less.. Tdiclub forum

P0299 was the code. The apparent cause was a loose clean air line from the N75 valve to the air filter box. It was secure on the air box side but ready to fall off the fitting on the N75 side.
